One Way or Another

Credence is your average college student living an average college life. It's not the most exciting routine in the world, but honestly, Credence couldn't ask for anything more than the company of his two best friends.
But then something more *does* show up, coming out of the blue to declare his intention to sweep him off his feet. Now, caught in a love triangle between his old childhood friend and this new mysterious stranger, Credence must grapple with a difficult question...the question of how he's going to tell them he doesn't want either of them.
"One Way or Another" is a 13k-word comedy visual novel written for the 2025 Novembuck Game Jam.

This was extremely charming. The tonal shifts had me on the ropes for a bit but the comedic beats kept me hooked.

I don't have words at the rollercoaster of emotions I felt while reading this entire novel.
But I must admit, I was thoroughly entertained, and it even made me laugh because the story's genre shifted unexpectedly at certain points. 😄
And that ending...
Well, I can't ask for much more. It was a bit rushed, but I'm not complaining since the protagonist partly wanted it that way.
But I enjoyed the romantic/comedy aspect of this story. Well done!
